How can I determine which sound card my computer has?

1 Go to the Windows START menu and select SETTINGS
2 Select CONTROL PANEL.
3 Once the control panel opens, double click the SYSTEM icon.
4 In the dialog box that opens, select the DEVICE MANAGER tab (in Windows XP select the HARDWARE tab and then DEVICE MANAGER). Be sure that the VIEW DEVICES BY TYPE setting is selected.
5 Click on SOUND, VIDEO AND GAME CONTROLLERS. The list will open and give you the name of the sound cards installed in your computer.
6 Additional information about a sound card may be obtained by double clicking on the individual sound card name. Once the dialog box opens, select the DETAILS tab. |
The game display is corrupted, freezes mid-play or the graphics just don't look right.

If you are able to initiate game play but sections of the screen, background or options menu become graphically corrupted, the video card in your computer may not support 3DBlitz.
The following video cards may not support SeaWar:
ATI Rage IIC 4MB
Diamond Stealth 3D 3000
Intergraph Intense 3D

What happens if the game crashes mid-play?

It is possible that this problem is related to your video card. See Minimum System Requirements for more information.

ERROR MESSAGES:
"Error starting program. The SEAWAR.exe file is linked to missing export DINPUT.DLL"

You must have DirectX7.0 or greater installed on your computer. See DirectX for more information on locating and installing DirectX on your computer. |

You received this error message because your video card cannot support SeaWar. See Minimum System Requirements. |

PLAYING IN NETWORK MODE:
If you would like to play SeaWar with a friend, go to the MAIN MENU and select NETWORK MODE.
One player must ORIGINATE the game and a second player must JOIN. Both the originator and the joiner must select the same network method, either INTERNET or LAN (local area network).
For LAN, the joiner will see a list of available players. Select your partner to continue.
For INTERNET, the joiner must have the IP address of the originator.
How to find an IP address:.
1. Go to the start menu and select "Run"
2. In the textbox that appears be type: "Winipcfg"
3. A dialog box will appear with a pull down menu, in that list, select your network connection adapter (modem, ppp adapter or the name of your network card).
4. Once the correct adapter is selected, the "IP Address" box will change to show your address. Copy that number down.
* Please note, for most users, the IP address will change at every Internet session.
